ZONTA says no! That’s our motto this year. The Club of Bielefeld took it to heart, and gave it a twist. Say yes to no is our attitude, and how else – in these times – would you convey that message better than on the front of a T-shirt? And that’s exactly what we did. An oxymoron approach to this motto was designed to provoke questions and seek ambassadors. We want to be asked what we say yes to no to, and we want others to make their own statement. Advocacy needs voices and statements, and generally an attitude. On May 23 2019, a group of us joined Nicole Köhring in her workshop to produce handmade T-shirts bearing the slogan “say yes to no”. It was a lot of fun, and needed a bit of muscle. Not only did we print the front by hand, but we also added a touch of Z to the back. The day was marked with a vibrant production of T-shirts that was accompanied by the occasional plastic beaker of something bubbly. As you do!

Children sizes, and adult ones are now ready to be worn by our little and big ambassadors. We will be using our Instagram (zonta_club_bielefeld) account to publish the T-shirt wearers and campaign for saying yes to a lot of different no’s: no to child marriage, no to violence against women, and no to so much more. Our celebrations started with T-shirts and will end in November with a grand finale event. It’s not just the one big thing that does justice to advocacy, but in fact it’s the sum of lots of little Things.

ZONTA says no! Gegen Gewalt an Frauen, gegen Kinderehe – das ist seit Jahren ein weltweites Zonta-Motto. Der Zonta Club Bielefeld hat sich den Slogan zu Herzen genommen und gibt ihm eine neue Richtung:  „Say yes to no“ – Sag „Ja“ zum „Nein“, das ist unsere Haltung, die wir in die Welt tragen möchten – und wie kann ein Slogan besser „in die Welt getragen“ werden, als auf der Vorderseite eines T-Shirts?

Say yes to no  ist ein Oxymoron, ein Widerspruch in sich und soll provozieren und zu Fragen anregen – und Botschafterinnen finden! Mit dem Tragen des Shirts wollen wir gefragt werden, zu welchem „Nein“ wie „Ja“ sagen und möchten ebenso andere einladen, ihr Statement dazu zu machen.

Advocacy ( Fürsprache, Anwaltschaft) ist ein großes Zonta-Thema und braucht Stimmen und Statements und selbstverständlich eine klare Haltung. 

Am 23. May 2019 hat sich eine kleine Gruppe Zontians in einem Workshop zu einem Siebruckworkshop bei Nicole Köhring eingefunden, um die ersten Hundert T-Shirts mit dem Slogan „say yes to no“ zu bedrucken – mit viel Spass, Fingergeschick und ein bisschen Muskelkraft. So wurde nicht nur die Vorderseite mit dem Schriftzug bedruckt – konzentrierte und emsige Teamarbeit machten es möglich, dass am Ende auch noch  ein knalliges Zonta Z auf der Rückseite jedes Shirt seinen markanten Platz fand.

T-Shirts in Kindergröße, M, L und XL sind nun bereit (in die Welt getragen) zu werden. Um die Reichweite zu vergrößern, nutzen wir unser Instagram Profil (zonta club bielefeld) und laden alle T-Shirt Träger*innen ein, uns mit Fotos erfahren zu lassen und ihr ja zu vielen unterschiedlichen Nein’s zu teilen: 

SAY YES TO no to child marriage,
SAY YES TO no more violence against women,
SAY YES TO no to so much more!

ZONTA wird in diesem Jahr 100 Jahre! Unsere 100-Jahres-Feier  beginnt mit dieser T-Shirt-Kampagne und wird im November mit einer Abschlussveranstaltung enden.
